SUMMER READY LEGS WITH BRAUN SILK-ÉPIL 9 // #BREAKFREE

Seeing as summer is just around the corner I thought this post fitted in quite nicely as I don't know about you guys but right now my legs are no where near summer ready. Well that was until I used the new Braun Silk-épil 9. I was sent this to review and I must say I was a bit sceptical as my previous experiences with an epilator has not been great but this one has converted me.

Like most people I am sure, I normally just shave my legs and it is normally done is a rush so that without meaning to I am still left with hairy knees 9 times out of 10 (what a lovely thought) but in all honestly I would say I was no shaving expert. I think that is why I love the  Braun Silk-épil 9 because it makes hair removal so easy and my finished results made my legs feel like I had just had a professional wax at a salon.

In the Braun Silk-épil 9 box you get:

  • Silk-épil 9
  • Exfoliation brush head (incl. protection cap)
  • Shaver head
  • Trimmer cap
  • Facial cap
  • Skin contact cap
  • Pouch
  • Electric cord
  • Cleaning brush

When I tried it out I used the skin contact cap as this I felt gave me a better result on my legs and the exfoliation brush which I was so surprised how soft it made my legs. Its not until you use a product like this that you realise how dry your legs actual were!

I am not going to lie when I first started using it there was a little bit of discomfort but I wouldn't say it was painful. After using it for a while the pain went away and it does say that the more you use it the less you will feel it. It also says that if you are a first time user of an epilator that you may experience slight pain at first but that will subside after continued use.

You may be wondering what exactly an epilator actually is but it basically removes hair by mechanically grasping multiple hairs simultaneously and pulling them out. The way in which epilators pull out hair is similar to waxing so you get extra smooth results.

The only real downside to the Braun Silk-épil 9 is that to do both your legs it does take much longer than shaving. I would say I spent about 15 mins in my bathroom doing it however that did include exfoliating my legs with the exfoliating brush as well. I am also a bit of a perfectionist so I didn't want to miss a single hair and actually I quite enjoyed giving myself a little pampering session in the process, it gave me a good excuse to take some time out and give my legs some much needed TLC!
